Abe M. Barlaskar, Esq. is a lifelong Michigander. Born in Detroit, he is a respected trial lawyer and founding partner of MUMEN BARLASKAR Law Firm PLLC, where he represents clients in both personal injury and criminal defense matters across Michigan. Personal Injury Practice
In personal injury cases, Abe fights for individuals injured in car accidents, truck crashes, motorcycle collisions, slip and falls, and dog bite incidents. He is skilled at building strong cases through medical evidence, expert coordination, and pressure-focused negotiation, ensuring clients receive the full compensation they deserve. And if the insurance company undervalues a case, Abe goes to trial.
In 2025, he and his partner Ruhul recovered nearly $5,000,000.00 for a client after a "billboard" firm declined the case because the other firm thought the client was at fault. Abe and Ruhul retained over several experts, ranging from engineers and doctors to PhDs and private investigators, because they knew there was more to the story.
Criminal Defense
On the criminal side, Abe defends clients charged with DUI/OWI, assault and battery, domestic violence, larceny, fraud, drug crimes, solicitation, and complex traffic matters. Background & Experience
Abe has significant courtroom experience ranging from federal court to the Macomb County Prosecutor's office, to defending insurance companies and their insureds in district and circuit courts. Prior to co-founding MUMEN BARLASKAR Law Firm PLLC, Abe was a trial lawyer for AAA Insurance Company and an attorney and partner at Plunkett Cooney, where he defended companies such as Amazon, Kroger, Wal-Mart, The Home Depot, The Hertz Corporation, and Meijer in personal injury cases, and prosecuted cases for the City of Northville, advised the City of Plymouth, and defended criminal cases for individual and corporate clients.
Abe also serves as a Case Evaluator for the Wayne County Circuit Court, and is an adjunct professor at Oakland University, where he teaches personal injury law.
